The International Commission for Optics, ICO, is an international scientific society created in 1947 and a Category 1 member of the International Science Council. ICO currently has nearly 60 Territorial Committees members and seven International Society Members, among those, the RIAO.

The European Optical Society, EOS, is a non-profit society, and the umbrella organization for national optical societies in Europe. EOS community covers members from all around the world. EOS is a sister association with RIAO.
